About the NSW Tall Poppy Campaign
The Tall Poppy Campaign began operating in New South Wales in 1999. Young Tall Poppy Science Awards ceremonies are held each year and the Tall Poppies Reaching Students Program engages Award winners in activities to promote further study, understanding of and careers in the sciences to students and teachers. Additional activities target the broader community and policy makers.
A comprehensive program of school visits and themed seminars are planned for the school year in consultation with individual schools, and partners such as the Powerhouse Museum, OSMR, Macquarie University, the NSW Department of Education and Training and the Powerhouse Museum. Many opportunities exist, including linking in to our activities through video conferencing or attending workshops.
