Australia’s new Chief Scientist

Professor Ian Chubb AC’s appointment to this prime science role for Australia has been generally welcomed given his expertise, vast experience and record of achievements in diverse contexts – he was last Vice Chancellor at the Australian National University. The announcement has engendered considerable media coverage – a good thing for science.

His brief is challenging: “Contributing to the well-being of Australia through provision of clear, authoritative and independent scientific advice to her Government and her people.” Read more here.
