The
Tall Poppies Reaching Kids program involves visits
by Young Tall Poppies to schools and educational
organizations to talk to students about science,
in consultation with departments of education, science
teachers' associations, and individual schools.
Young Tall Poppies participate in workshops and
conferences with science teachers and curriculum
consultants.
This program provides an opportunity for our Tall
Poppies to talk to students about their lives as
scientists and researchers with a view to the students
establishing an understanding and appreciation of
their work, their day-to-day life and the benefits
of science and research in today's world.

Reverse perceptions that
scientists are unapproachable and out of touch
with society in general and teachers and school
students in particular

Generally, there are no charges
for a Young Tall Poppy visit to schools. Funding
support is provided by the Australian Government
Department of Health and Ageing and State Government
Education and Science departments.
