NSW Awards Ceremony

Nine young scientists were honoured at the prestigious 2012 Young Tall Poppy Science Awards for NSW on Thursday evening, October 25, at The Powerhouse Museum. Dr Tara Murphy was named as the NSW Young Tall Poppy of the Year.

This year’s finalists cover vital research areas such as Water sustainability, Neuroscience and Aged care. All are leaders in their field, breaking new ground with their innovations and discoveries all carried out here in NSW universities and research centres.

The NSW Young Tall Poppy Awards are supported by the University of NSW, the University of Newcastle, the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney.
