Dr Benjamin Goss

Approximately 280 people are newly paralysed by traumatic spinal cord injury each year. This injury results in lifelong disability and sensory and motor function due to secondary degeneration. Ben’s research is focused on two areas. Firstly the development of strategies to minimise the effect of this nerve fibre degeneration. He is also collaborating with Canadian researchers to track patients with spinal cord injuries, their treatment and clinical outcomes with the view to developing policy to deliver the best care possible.
