Young Tall Poppy Dr Kathryn Burdon on ABC Adelaide

Dr Kathryn Burdon, who performs research on genetic blindness, was one of ten winners of the presitigious South Australian Young Tall Poppy Science Awards, presented on 18 August 2009. Kathryn was interviewed about her career choice and what it means to win a Tall Poppy Award. The interview featured on prime time radio (Drive on Adelaide 891) as well as hitting the front page of ABC Adelaide online. Young Tall Poppy Dr Angela Moles on ABC's Catalyst

Dr Angela Moles, 32, winner of a NSW & ACT Young Tall Poppy Science Award in 2008, was was featured on the ABC's Catalyst program recently. An evolutionary biologist, Dr Moles' research aims to improve our understanding of the strategies that plants use to adapt to changes in their environments. Her studies aim to contribute to predicting how plant and animal species from around the world may change as a result of global warming.
