NSW & ACT Tall Poppy Campaign

The Tall Poppy Campaign began operating in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory in 1999 and 2002 respectively. Combined Young Tall Poppy Science Awards ceremonies are held for these states each year and the Tall Poppies Reaching Students Program engages Award winners in activities to promote further study, understanding of and careers in the sciences to students and teachers. Additional activities target the broader community and policy makers.

A comprehensive program of school visits and themed seminars is in implementation for the 2010 school year and in planning for the latter half of the year in consultation with individual schools, and partners such as the Powerhouse Museum, OSMR, Macquarie University and the NSW Department of Education. Many opportunities exist, including linking in to our activities through video conferencing.
